My little girl is wearing her new Hello Kitty Lavender top in this collage I posted on my Instagram account. The Hello Kitty top was perfect with her White skirt, a hand-me-down, and her rubber shoes. Her big sister was wearing the same color combination that Sunday we visited my Mother at the cemetery.

Remember that freebie boots I got from the Payless shop during a 3-day-sale at SM North EDSA? I have been looking for a dress to perfectly match those “cowboy” boots and I found one! Her Bench Tweeners Green dress! Yes, it is long-sleeved and not really in time for summer but I guess you are wrong – it rained so hard that day! Ha ha! Kidding aside, the dress is very comfy since it is made of cotton. It was just the 2nd time she wore this dress but guess what? Even Roey noticed that the sleeves were somehow tight already. I was surprised too but still kept convincing myself that it does not look bad and hey, it is a size 4 and it fits her. Did it?
Her boots is yet a little long for her feet being it one size bigger than her actual size but no one would even notice that. It looked perfect on her and again, if there was only a size that would fit Mommy here..ha ha! This was her outfit when we attended a birthday party, however, these were taken at SM City The Block – right in front of SpongeBob’s Pineapple house. I have this collage posted on my Instagram account too so you may want to check it out and follow me!

Kids normally wear tees, tank tops, skirts, summer dresses and shorts during summer – all cotton made. Sunnies, caps, hair clips & bows and scarfs are also the “IN” fashion accessories during summer.
It also the best time to wear summer dresses this time of the year. Cotton is most advisable especially for kids so as to avoid discomfort. We know that cotton is a great absorbent as we perspire more during the hottest days of the year. Summer dresses made of cotton are best since it allows air to pass through, absorb sweat and somehow helps one to keep cool.
My kids were lucky enough to have received cotton summer dresses from my friend, Ched. Thank you again mare!

SM City North EDSA recently help what they call “The Great Northern Sale” and I (together with my 3 year old) was one of the first people to get there as soon as it opened. The main reason I had to be there was to (be one of the firsts) fall in line outside Cherry Mobile’s branch for the much awaited and sought after FLARE mobile phone. I was #20 as per the stub handed to us and got my unit after about 2 hours. These shoes were not purchased according to my plan. =P
I had to meet my cousin, Divine right after lunch and accompanied her at the BDO branch at the upper ground floor of SM City Annex. When we were just few steps down the escalator, she saw big and numerous signs saying “Buy 2 Take 1″. The signs were from Payless Shoesource. She informed me too that, that is where she buy shoes for her son (sometimes). I then remembered that my younger daughter’s sneakers (she got as a hand-me-down from her older sister) is too small and looked old already. I entered the store as Divine turned left and entered the bank. Roey and my reaction as we saw their tall shelves for shoes – wow!
I ended up buying Roey a size 10 (one size bigger) Disney Princess rubber shoes and Ate K a Smart Fit Black shoes she will temporarily wear at school. (Her school shoes needs to a repair already!) Why temporary? Well, I told her that this pair is also a size bigger than her current pair of shoes and I bought this pair intended for her to wear at 6th grade. LOL!
Brown “cowboy” boots here is what I chose as the free pair! Its original price is around Php1,200.00 but on sale for Php 700+ and again, this has a bigger size (Size 10 1/2). It is for Roey (a size 9), not mine. And when we got home, I told myself – “if there was only a bigger pair of these boots… hays!”
Now, Ate K is bugging me to get her something to wear for their annual modeling school activity.
The theme: Rainy
The Color Motif: Emerald Green
I have to get moving and look for something that will fit her, something Green that will look good for her Morena skin and most importantly, something she would like to wear!

Thanks to one of my dearest friends, Ched for this bath / vanity set from The Body Shop! I love the scent of White Musk and the shower gel is almost empty. Ha ha!
My elder daughter even asked me if she can use it – the lotion and cologne spray. I once had her use the cologne spray but not the lotion. I don;t think it is advisable nor okay to have her use these kind of lotion already. especially the fact that she has skin asthma. I may be somehow over reacting but honestly, I call it being careful. Every Mom would hate the feeling seeing your child suffer from eczema and other type of skin irritation and you can’t do anything to ease the itchiness and sometimes the pain (except apply topical ointments). People with this kind of skin problem should really be extra careful with new skin products. I let her use something that is pediatrician prescribed.
White Musk – (Wikipedia) have a clean, smooth and sweet scent lacking the fecal/”animalic” notes of natural musks and are sometimes attributed as having notes of Blackberry, Ambrette, or Ambergris. These compounds are essential in modern perfume and form the base note foundations of most perfume formulas. Most, if not all musk fragrance used in perfumery today is synthetic.
That is one basic reason I had to refrain K in using the lotion nor the shower gel, it being synthetic. Still, I am loving this brand and scent. And I might find myself sometime inside their SM City north EDSA branch just for these.
Thanks Ched!

Her pedia once mentioned (when Roey slipped inside her clinic) that it is best to invest in good & durable shoes and sandals and never forget to stay age appropriate. She even told us about one toddler patient who came in dressed like an adult woman with her daring blouse and wedges. Even said that she couldn’t help herself give out her unsolicited comment and advice to the Mom to not let her daughter wear such stylish outfit and shoes yet.
I agreed with her and mentioned that it is indeed okay to check what’s the latest fashion for kids but always keep in mind that these kids’ first clothing requirement is “comfort”. Besides the fact that they have to be comfortable, it has to be simple, affordable, age and occasion appropriate – at least for me.
Green cotton long-sleeved dress from b/Tweeners
Here, Roey’s wearing a Bench Tweeners long-sleeved dress we bought on sale last December. I grabbed the promo since the dress is made of cotton fabric (I want a fabric that “breathes”- something you can wear comfortably) and has a very nice shade of Green. The White sandals was something I got for her (on sale too!) in a hurry. This was the sandals she’s wearing at her pediatrician’s clinic. Roey hesitates when I let her wear this pair and would insist in wearing an old pair of rubber shoes which does not fit her anymore (a hand me down pair from her big sister). Somehow, I feel a bit of pain in my conscience that she did not really like and feel like wearing what I got for her. Her toes are being pushed forward so her feet literally ends up dirty every time she takes them off. Lesson learned – prefer the ones with rubber soles and refrain from slides (open-toed sandals) during the toddler years. Leather soles are also good but for the active kiddos, rubber soles will give the less chance of slip accidents.
KIDS Open Toe Sandals, Size 12
I am a no-perfect-Mom when it comes to kid’s fashion and clothing, honestly. I have had a number of mistakes in choosing my daughters’ clothing, shoes and accessories and I do regret it every time. Waste of time and money, as I always tell myself. I am sure that there are many parents out there, Moms most especially, that feel the same. Then again, these are experiences that completes a lesson as a parent (remember, clothing is a part of our basic necessities). As imperfect humans, we can’t help to criticize and bash sometimes but at the end of the day, we get to see the differences between each one of us. So, it is best to just fashionably learn from each other instead. =)
So, what is your take about kids being comfortable with their fashion versus being “in” with the fashion trends? Or maybe, I should be asking… what do you let your kids wear?
By the way, just last weekend, SM North EDSA held what they call the Great Northern Sale and without much hesitation, I gave in and entered Payless Shoesource upon reading their numerous signs saying – Buy Two, Take One! I will surely make another post of what we got from that store – it was my first time there.

Happy New Year!
As a child, I remember to wear Polka dotted dresses and jump happily with the wish to have plenty of money and become taller.
My elder daughter K did the same thing, jump!
She also asked her younger sister to do the same. They were even laughing while jumping over and over again. Well, they weren’t in their Polka dots, they’re wearing Pink and Gray striped dresses which were given by a loving friend, Ched.
As for the photo above, that’s K about 2 years ago. She wore a princess costume for the photo shoot at a photography studio. We had a lot of photos from the shoot yet this is one of my favorites.
